The original Bucks Camp Log was discovered among the possessions of the late Glenn H. Williams. Here are the last days of the Wisconsin wilderness, when the howl of timber wolves carried through the pines and woodsmoke from the chimney of a secluded hunting cabin curled above that vast expanse of forest. Each entry in the Log is a captivating word picture offering exciting hunting adventures, tragedy, rare humor, woodsmanship, philosophical reflections, or historical sidelights. As day to day entries reveal the personalities of the members of Bucks Camp, the reader comes to know these men whose great friendship brought them together for the ritual of the hunt. The Log serves to remind hunters everywhere of the grand traditions and skills, the love of nature and comradeship, passed on for generations, that constitute our American hunting heritage.
